Bicutan, Taguig City – Department of Science and Technology Regional Offices’ IT experts meeting up for the second time last March 1, 2017, for the Harmonization of DOST Information Systems.

DOST IV – A continued to lead DOST IT experts on the Evaluation of Information Systems – Phase 1 at ADMATEL, DOST Complex, Bicutan, Taguig City.

Dr. Lydia S. Manguiat, the Assistant Regional Director of Region IV – A, opened the evaluation with gratitude towards all the participants and presenters. She remarked the DOST Staff’s passion for working for the institution, and their ambition to help all the employee to be more efficient with their work.

In addition, the DOST Under Secretary for Regional Offices, Usec. Brenda L. Nazareth-Manzano who gave the inspirational speech acknowledged the young pool of DOST Staffs who are working hard to create systems all for the improvement of the internal processes. She also reminded every one regarding the evaluation’s objective; to review existing information systems and decide which system will be the best fit for adoption, as well as the creation of the executive information system.

The evaluation was attended by IT experts and staffs of DOST Regional offices from CAR, 1, 2, 3, NCR, 4A, 4B, 6, 7, 9, 10, 11, 12, CARAGA, and staffs from Central Office.

IMPRESSION Presentation

Regions 2, 3, 4A, 6, 7, 9, and the Central Office presented their own systems under the Project Monitoring and Information Systems. After the voting consensus, Region 3’s Online Reporting System, Region 4A’s IMPRESSION (Information and Monitoring of Projects, Services, and S&T Interventions), and Region 6’s Project Management System got the votes on the systems that will be used for the harmonization.

Meanwhile in the Document Tracking Systems, Regions 3, 4A, 6, 9, and Central Office shared their existing systems. Region 4A’s TRACE (Tracking, Retrieval, Archiving of Communications for Efficiency) and Region 6’s Knowledge Portal Management got the votes for the Document Tracking System.

For the Scholarship Information System, Region 9 presented their DOST IX Scholarship Program System. In addition, Region 4A also shared VROOM or the Vehicle Reservation and Official Travel Management.

The presentation of Capsule Proposal for the Harmonization of InfoSys Project was discussed by Ms. Janice Irene Berris, Science Research Specialist II of DOST 4A. Mr. Ricardo Valera the Assistant Regional Director of DOST CARAGA and Mr. Martin A. Wee OIC – Regional Director of Region were also present to share their thoughts regarding the systems and the harmonization.
