DESCRIPTION : The global alcohol drinks market consisting of beers, ciders, flavored and alcoholic beverages, spirits and wines generated total revenues of $812.4 billion in 2006 and expected to hit the value of $ 903.5 billion by 2011.

In the Philippines, consumption of imported wines has doubled since 2000 which can be attributed to the introduction of lower-priced wines and opening of distribution channels.
As one of the strategies in enhancing the wine and spirit industry in the country, product development is very important. Introduction of new product varieties to capture a broader market share is very challenging, and timely.

OBJECTIVE : 1. to develop sparkling wine or carbonated alcoholic beverage using the locally produced fruit wines;

2. To develop varios/carbonated and alcoholic drinks utilizing tropical fruit wines and Philippine Lambanog;
3. To improve te competitiveness of trpical wines and distilled spirits; and
4. To enhance the domestic industry of alcoholic beverages.
