Last March 2, 2023, project representatives from various DOST Regional Offices, project partners and collaborators gathered at the Metrocentre Hotel and Convention Center in Tagbilaran Bohol to celebrate the near completion of the project, “Roll-out of 1000 RxBox Telehealth Devices in Selected Healthcare Facilities in the Philippines” funded by the DOST Philippine Council for Health Research and Development (DOST-PCHRD).
Specifically, the activity was attended by project representatives from the various DOST Regional Offices, the University of the Philippines Manila National Telehealth Center (NTHC), the UP Diliman Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), the DOST-PCHRD, the Department of Health (DOH) Knowledge Management and Information Technology Service (KMITS), the Ionics EMS Inc. , and some of the RxBox device's end-users and technical panels from the De La Salle University and the Testech Group.
DOST-Laguna-LSPU to further improve Mushroom project, conduct benchmarking

Aiming for the continuous improvement of the deployable Mushroom Growing House project that contributes to ensuring food security, the Department of Science and Technology Provincial Office in Laguna (DOST-Laguna) and Laguna State Polytechnic University (LSPU)-Siniloan Campus conducted a benchmarking activity last February 20 to 22.

Representatives from DOST-Laguna and LSPU-Siniloan traveled all the way to Central Luzon State University (CLSU) in Nueva Ecija and Benguet State University (BSU) in La Trinidad to learn about their best practices in implementing similar mushroom projects.
The LSPU Mushroom project team, led by Dr. Charmyne Sanglay, proposed to hold this activity in order to develop more advanced and stable project sites that are patterned from the acclaimed and successful mushroom project of the CLSU and BSU.

DOST-CALABARZON leads Microsoft PowerBI training for DOST ROs

Under the Customer-Focused DARIUS (Data Analytics-Ready Info Unified System for Agile Delivery of S&T Services) II Project, the Department of Science and Technology (DOST)-CALABARZON conducted a Microsoft Power BI training to 15 DOST Regional Offices (RO) last February 27 via Zoom.
Engr. Francisco R. Barquilla III, Assistant Regional Director (ARD) for Technical Operations and DARIUS II Project Leader, opened the program by welcoming the participants. Engr. Barquilla then gave updates on the progress of the project and asked for support from the present DOST ROs from the upcoming launching of the Customer Portal System and for future activities.

Bilibinwang MPC gets ready for Tubig Talino production

Tubig Talino is soon to become available in Agoncillo, Batangas!
Bilibinwang Multipurpose Cooperative (MPC) prepared for producing Iodine-rich Drinking Water (Tubig Talino) through a technology transfer training held at their water purification facility, Brgy. Bilibinwang, Agoncillo, Batangas, last March 6 to 7.
The implementation of the Tubig Talino technology for Bilibinwang MPC is part of the Department of Science and Technology (DOST)-Batangas’ Grants-in-Aid Community-based project. The project aims to transfer Tubig Talino technology as the cooperative's new business venture that will help contribute to the government's program to control iodine deficiency disorders (IDD) in the country.

The Department of Science and Technology (DOST) - CALABARZON invited the Institute of Food Science and Technology - University of the Philippines Los Baños (IFST-UPLB) thru the UPLB Foundation Inc. to conduct a Training on Vacuum Frying Technology last March 2 to 3. Staffs and officers of the Sentrong Pamilihan ng Produktong Agrikultura sa Quezon Foundation, Inc. (SPPAQFI), as well as Southern Luzon State University (SLSU) and DOST-CALABARZON, participated in the two-day training.
