Empowered by its culture of innovativeness, the technologies that the Department of Science and Technology – CALABARZON (DOST-CALABARZON)’s Management Information Systems (MIS) Unit developed proved useful in easing the transition towards the New Normal.
The systems HRMIS, TRACE, TRADE, KMIS, and IMPRESSION, already in-use prior to the pandemic, easily complement the work-from-home arrangement. As of 2021, the MIS Unit has developed 25 systems, including the recently deployed QMIS, and the Contactless Attendance System (CAS) Terminal. These systems, among others that the MIS Unit designed, have already been adopted by other institutions nationwide to support their operations despite the challenges of the pandemic.

The pursuit of making the island Municipality of Tingloy a Science and Technology-empowered community continues!
Last February 21-22, the dengue virus detection kit called BioTek-M Dengue Aqua Kit was officially deployed to the Rural Health Unit (RHU) of the municipality. The personnel of the health unit were also trained on the use of equipment. The Department of Science and Technology (DOST) CALABARZON, in partnership with Manila HealthTek Inc., facilitated the technology transfer which primarily aims to provide an accurate, fast and efficient detection of the dengue virus from suspected patients in the municipality.

Earlier this month, DOST-Rizal featured one of its Grants-in-Aid/Community-Based Project beneficiary, the Angono New Normal Farmers Association (ANNFA), in an article describing the group’s success in their endeavor to establish a steady supply of food to meet the challenges caused by the COVID pandemic.

DOST-CALABARZON, in partnership with the Commission on Elections (COMELEC), is now on the roll in certifying the 27,930 Electoral Board (EB), previously called as Board of Election Inspectors, in the CALABARZON region for the upcoming 2022 May national and local elections.
