Two of the in-housed information systems developed by the Management Information System (MIS) Unit of DOST-CALABARZON have reached the Eastern Visayas Region.

On October 6, the Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) was signed between DOST-CALABARZON and National Police Commission Regional Office VIII (NAPOLCOMR8) for the adoption of Tracking, Retrieval, Archiving of Communications for Efficiency (TRACE) and Human Resource Management Information System (HRMIS), two of the 12 information systems by DOST-CALABARZON. After the installation on adoptor’s server, the next step is the users’ training to be scheduled next month.

DOST-CALABARZON and NAPOLCOMR8 formally signed the Memorandum of Agreement for the adoption of TRACE and HRMIS at DOST-CALABARZON Regional Office, Los Baños, Laguna on October 6.

TRACE is a system that enables tracking of incoming and outgoing documents, task delegation, agency head’s appointment system, and listing of regional and provincial events and activities. Meanwhile, HRMIS enables online requesting and approval travel orders, filing of compensatory time-offs, tracking and monitoring of overtime credits, online filing and approval of vehicle reservation, and monitoring of health declaration status of employees.

NAPOLCOMR8 has become interested in these information systems when they saw the presentation of Dr. Alexander R. Madrigal, DOST-CALABARZON Regional Director, during a Career Executive Service Board (CESB) event last year.

As of today, there are already 27 TRACE system adoptors and 6 HRMIS system adoptors. In total, the 12 information systems of DOST-CALABARZON were shared to 170 adoptors coming from other DOST agencies, National Government Agencies, Local Government Units, academe, and even some private companies.

One of DOST-CALABARZON’s pride, the Smart Office Systems, has becoming more popular even outside the DOST agencies especially on today’s new normal where digitization and remote working are given much attention.
