The Department of Science and Technology (DOST)-CALABARZON through Batangas Provincial Science and Technology Center (PSTC-Batangas) continues to provide livelihood programs for Taal eruption-affected communities under the “Community Empowerment thru Science and Technology (CEST) for Disaster-Stricken Areas in Batangas Province” program.

In an aim to establish hollow blocks production enterprises in the Municipalities of Agoncillo, San Nicolas, and Laurel, Batangas, three of the hardly-hit communities of the Taal Volcano eruption in 2020, a technology training on hollow blocks production was conducted at the Materials Recovery Facility of Laurel, Batangas, Brgy. Molinete, Laurel, Batangas, June 06.

Target beneficiaries from the three municipalities underwent the training facilitated by Ms. Jenalyn O. Narvarte, General Manager of the Asosasyon ng Dacanlao sa Higit na Kaunlaran (ADHIKA) Producers Cooperative, PSTC-Batangas Community-based Project beneficiary located at Brgy. Dacanlao, Calaca, Batangas.
