Various Local Government Units (LGUs) and National Government Agencies (NGAs), including DOST Provincial Science and Technology Office in Quezon (DOST-Quezon), have congregated in the Provincial Capitol Building of Quezon last March 1 to 3 for “TULAY SA PROGRESO: Bridging NG-LGU Partnership Towards a Healthy and Prosperous Province of Quezon”, headed by the Office of the Governor of Quezon Province.

The program of Hon. Gov. Angelina "Doktora Helen” Tan aimed to strengthen the NGA-LGU relationship. Each representative introduced which party they represent and their respective programs, projects, and activities. Such plans by the mayors were presented to Gov. Tan and several Congressmen.

LGUs present during the event were Mayors from District 1, 2, and 3, and Office of the Governor of Quezon Province. NGAs present were the Department of Health,  Department of Education, Department of Agriculture, National Meat Inspection Service, Department of Agrarian Reform, Philippine Coconut Authority, Department of Trade and Industry, Department of Labor and Employment, Department of Public Works and Highways, National Irrigation Administration, Department of Environment and Natural Resources, Department of Tourism, Department of Social Welfare and Development, Office of Civil Defense, Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development, Department of Interior and Local Government, Department of Information and Communications Technology, Technical Education and Skills Development Authority, and the Department of Science and Technology (DOST), represented by Dir. Maria Esperanza E. Jawili, Provincial Director of DOST-Quezon.

During the event, the Provincial Admin (PA), Office of Provincial Agriculturist (OPA), and Provincial Assistance for Community and Sectoral Empowerment and Development Unit (PACSEDU) came forward to show interest and intent in collaborating with DOST-CALABARZON.

Additionally, other local officials such as Congressman Reynante Arrogancia, Mayor Angelica “Ate Gigi” Portes-Tatlonghari of Pagbilao, Mayor Agustin Villaverde of Lucban, Mayor Ralph Edward Lim of San Andres, and others had discussions with Dir. Jawili regarding possible partnerships for projects in their respective municipalities.

The organizers reiterated that through this event, may the communication of NG-LGU in Quezon Province be open and available for easier and more productive discussions for future projects.
