The Provincial S&T Center of Rizal equipped Dario Coronel of Fortress Food Manufacturing Corp. with the latest in technology and design system to cope with the new packaging trend. It facilitated provision of funding support totaling PhP0.86M through the Small Enterprises Technology Upgrading Program (SETUP), a banner project of the science and technology department. The company has since acquired modern equipment, new packaging design, and additional laboratory equipment.

The company, located in Antipolo City, Rizal engages in the manufacture of canned vegetable products. Now totaling 19 variants, 17 of these vegetable-based viand are cooked in coconut milk including the local favorite laing (yam leaves), puso ng saging (banana flower), and ubod (coconut pith). The firm now produces 3,200 cans per day of the variants. It sells these in supermarkets here and abroad such as the US, Saudi Arabia, Australia and Taiwan. In the latter month of 2009, it produced a total of 53,000 canned viand valued at nearly PhP1M.
