The competitiveness of research capabilities of the academe lies in the initiatives of the academe members to upgrade their infrastructure and equipment, instruments, tools and techniques. Included in this upgrading is the subscription to good metrology practices.

The Department of Science and Technology, in partnership with Laguna State Polytechnic University and Regional Development (RDC), organized a seminar to provide background for research staff and professor of SUCs in CALABARZON in the field of Metrology. The ‘Metrology Awareness Seminar: Metrology in the Academe and Research and Development Agencies,” provided the state universities and colleges the basic knowledge and importance of accurate measurement and valid analyses of data presented to customers, last October 24, 2017 at Acacia Hotel, Alabang, Muntinlupa City, Manila.
