The Department of Science and Technology-CALABARZON (DOST-CALABARZON) was conferred with a Philippine Quality Award – Level 1 (Recognition for Commitment to Quality Management) during the 2015-2017 PQA Conferment Ceremony held at Heroes Hall in Malacañan Palace last October 24. It was graced by President Rodrigo Duterte, DOST Secretary Fortunato de la Peña, DTI Secretary Ramon Lopez, and DOST Usec. Brenda Nazareth-Manzano.

President Duterte, in his keynote message, challenged the awardees to share their best practices and become an inspiration to firms and industries. He also encouraged them to align their performance excellence to the government’s commitment to make the country globally competitive.

The DOST-CALABARZON is one of the 16 agencies which received this prestigious award for the 18th cycle of the PQA covering for the period of 2015. Also awarded from the DOST system are DOST-IX (20th cycle, 2017) and DOST-PCIEERD (18th cycle, 2015).

The PQA is the highest level of national recognition for organizational and performance excellence. It focuses on the areas leadership, strategy, customer, measurement, analysis and knowledge management, workforce, operations, and results.

DOST-CALABARZON sustain its commitment to quality management and hopefully will be able to gear up PQA Level 2 in the future.
