Teachers and students will find it now easier to research and learn more through the deployment of STARBOOKS in their schools.
Dubbed as Science and Technology Academic Research-based Openly Operated Kiosks or STARBOOKS, it is a digital library developed by the DOST – Science and Technology Information Institute (DOST-STII) which provides various S&T educational and learning materials.
The turnover ceremony was graced by Antipolo 1st District Cong. Cristina Roa-Puno, DepEd Antipolo Superintendent Dr. Rommel Bautista, and PSTC Rizal Provincial Director Fernando Ablaza together with the following school beneficiaries: Mambugan National High School, Muntindilaw National High School, San Isidro National High School, Bagong Nayon II National High School, Mayamot National High School, Dela Paz National High School, and Santa Cruz Elementary School.
This was made possible through the partnership of the 1st District Antipolo City House of Representatives and PSTC Rizal. With the request of Cong. Roa-Puno, a memorandum of agreement was signed last July 19 to award STARBOOKS to these selected schools.
An orientation on the use of the digital library facilitated by Mr. Neil Adamson Lameyra from PSTC Rizal followed afterwards to help the designated school focal persons on network configuration and admin functionality of the STARBOOKS.
A total of 209 STARBOOKS units are deployed in CALABARZON as of December 2018.
