To launch another municipal banner product mobilizing their rich coconut resource, the Local Government of Taysan, Batangas made ties with DOST Batangas and the Philippine Coconut Authority (PCA) in conducting a Training on Coconut-based Products Processing in benefit of their farmers’ and agricultural products producers’ organizations held at the Municipal Agriculture’s Office, Taysan, Batangas, May 23-24.

The final day of the National Science and Technology Week (NSTW) featured the recognition and awarding of the best MSMEs and communities all over the country last July 21 at the World Trade Center, Pasay City.

The communal paradigm equating women capacities limited to domestic chores gradually shifts to a much larger intersection of disciplines in an attempt to empower women over the years. Their participation in nation building has surged not only in the political front, but also in social life where they act as agents of change who pursue contribution to sustainable economic development. As society today honors women as active partners in nation-building, unfolding their maximum potential to achieve an equitable, peaceful and more prosperous humanity is at present sake.

Ibaan is not a left behind in terms of culture and arts. Through the years, it was known as the home of “kulambo” or mosquito net. A time in the Philippine history chronicles a period where ninety percent of the mosquito nets used all over the country originated from the looms of Ibaan weavers. These weaving skills served as a traditional craft of Ibaan up to this day and are believed to emanate from the ancestral tribes passed on to the current generations.
